Zovo Decision Tree
Decision trees with expected values.
Zovo Decision Tree turns a decision, its options, the chance events after them and the payoffs at the end into a decision tree drawing with the expected value of each node. Write the tree as an indented outline or a JSON list. Probabilities can be decimals, fractions such as 1/3 or percents. Expected values are computed with fractions, not floating point, so 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 is 1 and nothing drifts. The probabilities of each chance node must add up to 1; when they do not, the tool names the node and shows the sum. Each decision picks the option with the highest expected value (or the lowest, when the payoffs are costs), ties are listed, and branch costs are applied by a stated rule. A second calculation, from the probability and value of each path, must give the same root value. You get a vector PDF (Letter or A4), an SVG and a CSV with the fraction and the rounded value of each node, the chosen options and the risk profile of the chosen strategy.
What it does
- Indented outline or JSON input with decision, chance and end nodes
- Expected values with fractions: decimals, fractions such as 1/3 and percents read without rounding
- Probabilities of each chance node checked to add up to 1, with the node and the sum named
- Chosen option at each decision, ties listed, branch costs by a stated rule
- Risk profile of the chosen strategy and a second, path-based check of the root value
- PDF (Letter or A4), SVG and CSV with fractions and rounded values

Limitations
- Up to 300 nodes and 15 levels below the root; labels up to 60 characters; numbers up to 30 digits
- Expected value only: it does not model risk attitude, utility, discounting or sensitivity ranges
- It does not estimate probabilities or payoffs; it uses the numbers you give and refuses a tree whose chance probabilities do not add up to 1
- Exponent notation such as 1e5 is not read; write all digits
- The PDF font covers Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese; Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew and emoji show as ? in the PDF (the SVG and CSV keep them)
- Files of large trees are kept for 1 hour so the download links work, then deleted; download the files to keep them
